    The OilGuard Ex is engineered to withstand harsh offshore environments. Routine maintenance is quick and easy; no tooling and no chemicals are required. Quick reading and calibration verification can be achieved with SIGRIST's unique secondary solid reference standard. The solid reference standard is inserted within a few seconds. The instrument uses a sophisticated dual-beam optical setup with optimized wavelength configuration. It guarantees highest accuracy and stability of the measurement.

     

    Oil Traces (HC) in Process Water/ Waste Water

    Discharging industrial waste water is a most sensitive ecological procedure. Due to ever more complex processes, there are an increasing number of possibilities that oil traces can enter waste water without being noticed. This could result from a leakage, an interrupted process or simply due to carelessness or deliberate antisocial act.

    More and more companies are installing monitoring systems to avoid such incidents. Central collecting points or the outlet of the discharge into the external waste water systems are monitored using online analysis systems. Important criterias for the selection of a monitor are an immediate evaluation of the signals and a minimum of maintenance requirements.

     

    Benefit

    An operational disorder can be identified quickly using a continuous measurement of the oil traces. The operator can initiate actions to limit the damage, for example by diverting the contaminated water into a separate tank pool or lagoon. This collected water is then cleaned again before it is discharged through the outlet. This will not only avoid possible environmental harm, but will equally avoid a costly financial penalty or even worse damage to their public image.

  • The instrument is used for monitoring oil traces in raw, surface, process and waste water. A non-contact free-fall measurement guarantees precise measuring values and an extremely low need for maintenance. The OilGuard 2 W can be recalibrated by the customer with a secondary standard (solid reference). This exact recalibration is executed without chemicals. Optional there is an automatic recalibration available.
    The ingenious instrument design of the OilGuard 2W in combination with the high quality of its optical components minimizes the effect of interferences. Thus, even the smallest traces of oil, as well as larger amounts, can be precisely detected. The instrument can be adapted to various types of oil to meet customer requirements.   • The ColorPlus is built to accommodate up to three different light sources (UV and visible range) for the measurement of colour, DOC and concentrations. High-quality components, LED-light sources and Swiss precision guarantee reliable colour measurement also in the Ex-field and, if needed, with turbidity compensation. Long-term stable, reproducible results for a reliable process flow, a minimum of service and maintenance work and low operating costs to name but a few of the advantages. The process integration of the ColorPlus Ex can be adapted exactly to the customers’ applications. The instrument is available in different materials. You profit from an individual path length adaptation for optimum measuring range and sensitivity.

    By use of the dichromatic measurement at separate wavelengths the turbidity can be compensated. Measurements are performed inline or in bypass cells, the selection of materials for the cell and housing depends on the requirements. A version with flameproof encapsulation is offered for installations in areas requiring explosion protection.
