  • The Swiss company UT99 Ltd. is participating for the first time at the OTC exhibition in Houston. The firm is presenting its highly efficient “smart filtration” oil mist separators at booth 7429. UT99 provides separation efficiency of 99.9% and thus is well below the technical guidelines for air pollution control.     UT99 is a supplier to several world-wide leading combustion engine and turbine manufacturers, shipyards as well as to the on- and off-shore industry. Recently, the company has presented the world’s first oil mist eliminator for crankcase (combustion engine) and lube oil tank (gas and steam turbines) ventilation with classification approval by GL. In addition, RINA type approval was achieved for oil mist eliminators operating on diesel, gas and DF engines. The approval for the oil mist eliminator type UPF-844-MZ was confirmed and emphasizes the company’s focus on ships and offshore applications. Meanwhile, a large number of cruise ships, mega-yachts as well as several LNG carriers but also offshore platforms have been successfully equipped with UT99 oil mist separators. Besides environmental and efficiency related benefits, UT99 oil mist separators also substantially increase the safety and comfort aboard a ship or oil-rig.

     

    UT99 has its latest innovations on display; the UPF-SauKuL and UPF-CCV-450 for the ventilation of small and medium sized crankcases, eg. combustion engines up to 500 kW respectively 3MW as well as housings of auxiliary equipment (tanks, gears, clutches).   • The company UT99 AG is one of the pioneers in the development and manufacture of highly efficient oil mist separators for crankcase ventilation of combustion engines and for lubricating oil tank vent for turbines. The oil mist separators are designed for use in power generation, chp, off-highway, marine and off-shore applications with all kinds of fuel.

    Environmental and safety requirements are getting higher in the marine and offshore sectors in the future. Customers are demanding products that meet the specific requirements in maritime and offshore operations. With the GL and RINA approval UT99 AG has proven that their products fulfill highest demands on safety and reliability. Furthermore, the discharge of oil emissions from the crankcase ventilation and from the lubricating oil tank ventilation, respectively, is almost completely eliminated. Depending on the model residual oil amounts below 1 mg/m³ in the exhaust air (e.g. blow-by) will be ensured.

    The portfolio of oil mist separators with GL and RINA approval includes volume flows (e.g. blow-by) up to 1050 m³/h and can be used on internal combustion engines up to 100 MW and all available sizes of gas and steam turbines.

    The modular design allows a wide variety of options while reducing the cost and variety of components and spare parts.

    The application areas include open and closed crankcase ventilation in internal combustion engines as well as the lubricating oil tank vent for turbines. The electronic under pressure control in connection with electrically driven fan ensure a constant adjustable negative pressure under all operating conditions. The ATEX approval of the device allows the use even in hazardous areas.

    Oil Mist Separators of UPF-OCV Series: Blow-by filters for open crankcase ventilation. Especially for engines with a power of up to 100 megawatts our oil mist separators ensure top separation performance and functional safety – thus, they can be used even for critical applications, such as a potentially explosive atmosphere. With a residual oil quantity of less than 5 mg/m³, the statutory limit values of the TA Luft are significantly undercut. When required, we provide all models in an ATEX certified design.
