  • Imenco Corrosion Technology AS have been awarded a contract to deliver equipment for corrosion protection of the world’s largest offshore wind farm; Hornsea Project One off the coast of UK.

    Imenco Corrosion Technology AS (sister company of Imenco AS) have been awarded a contract to deliver equipment for corrosion protection (cathodic protection) of the world’s largest offshore wind farm – Hornsea Project One off the Yorkshire coast in UK. The contract has been awarded by Ørsted Wind Power A/S (previously DONG Energy Wind Power A/S) – the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore renewable energy. The wind farm consists of 174 wind turbines with a total capacity of 1,2 Gigawatt or electrical power for more than 1 million homes. The contract is for systems to connect sacrificial anodes to the turbine foundations and consist of Imenco’s Piranha® earthing connectors, cables and cable protectors.
    Following Imenco’s first delivery of cathodic protection equipment for offshore wind projects in 2016, the company has been awarded contracts for delivery of similar solutions for 8 European offshore wind power projects in UK, Germany and Belgium.

    Imenco has developed a series of solutions for connection of sacrificial anodes to various subsea structures. The solutions are all made to be installed without the use of divers and are all based on the same patented technology. In addition to offshore wind, the main application is found in lifetime extension of offshore oil and gas assets like pipelines, subsea production systems as well as floating and fixed platforms.

    Commenting on the contract award, Geir Egil Østebøvik said: ”Corrosion protection of offshore wind farms has become a major business area for us. This contract with Ørsted, awarded at the end of 2017 is the latest of a string of awards in the same business area throughout 2017. The contracts form a firm foundation for a continued development of our technology and organization in an exciting and growing business area”.

  • PAYARA® Retrofit Earthing Connector
    Imenco is a supplier of cathodic protection solutions. A major product group is the earthing connection between sacrificial anodes and subsea structures. The installation is diver-less, providing a safe and efficient operation.

    Product details:
    The Payara® is intended for mounting to pipelines ranging from 6". The main benefits are the strong mechanical hold, excellent electrical connection, and ease of installation. The clamp is guided into place by an ROV and tensioned with a torque tool to ensure a reliable and fast installation. Sacrificial Anodes may be attached directly to the clamp, or by an earthing cable to an anode sled.

    The Payara® Retrofit Earthing Connector provides a low-resistance electrical connection between a subsea pipeline/tubular and sacrificial anodes. The Payara® litterally bites into the steel, through coated surfaces. With flexibility in mind, the Payara® supports earthing cables from 16-240 mm2. When needed, the cables can be fitted with a bend stiffener to protect the termination on the Payara®.  With an active cathodic protection system the Payara® is designed to last for 25 years.

  • For the first time, live subsea video can be digitally transmitted via Ethernet without significant latency. The Subsea Visual Intelligence System (SubVIS) platform is based on embedding a computer into the camera, making it ready for advanced image enhancement and Computer Vision. We have effectively produced a dedicated computer specifically designed for low latency video processing and streaming, based on Smart Phone technology inside of the camera. Fully digital HD video transmission opens up an array of applications in the control room.
