  • Tri-Star Industries subsidiary Alloy Technology is pleased to announce it has been granted API Spec 20E and 20F Monogram approval from the American Petroleum Institute (license number 20E-0014 and 20F-0011), in addition to API Spec Q1 manufacturing certification.

    Alloy Technology specialises in high-integrity bolting for the critical subsea industry, and is the first and only company in Asia to hold both the API 20E and 20F accreditation. API Spec 20E/ 20F specifies requirements for the qualification, production and documentation of alloy, carbon and stainless steel bolting used in the petroleum and natural gas industries.

    The 20E/ 20F standard defines three categories of bolting specification levels (BSL); material critically is divided into BSL-1, BSL-2 and BSL-3, in which BSL-3 is addressing the highest level of stringency in meeting technical, quality and qualification criteria.

    API Spec 20E and 20F certify procurement, production and inspection processes for all sizes of roll threaded studs and all sizes of fully machined bolts, screws, nuts and other fasteners. It is becoming a standard requirement for fasteners used in subsea applications to meet API 20E and 20F standards.

  • Tri-Star Industries Pte Ltd is pleased to announce its patented Swift Torque® hydraulic torque wrench system, which combines the latest in innovative materials and technologies to create a versatile tool that is both lightweight and durable. Not only can it boost the efficiency, it is a cost-effective way of tightening critical studs and bolts.

    In today’s challenging market, the new Swift Torque low-profile tool is able to improve productivity, reduce operator fatigue and accelerate schedules. The new Swift Torque low-profile torque wrench has been found to perform 20% faster than its rivals, and is also approximately 10% lighter than its competitors due to its lightweight aluminium construction.

  • Tri-Star Industries is pleased to announce another milestone in its commitment to excellence and the continual improvement of its M*Rak cable ladder and tray systems.

    M*Rak initially obtained a Certificate of Product Design Assessment (PDA) from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) in 2015, verifying the products’ compliance with NEMA VE1-2009 and NEMA FG 1-1993 standards. 

    In 2016, M*Rak received a Type Approval Certificate from Bureau Veritas in accordance with the Bureau Veritas Rules for the Classification of Steel Ships & Offshore Units, IEC 61537 (2006), IACS UR E16, IACS Rec. 73, IEC 60068-2-75 (2014), IEC 60093 (1980) and FTP Code, Resolution MSC 61(67) Part 2.

    These certificates cover all the common materials such as stainless-steel, hot-dipped galvanise, and fiberglass-reinforced plastic and aluminium, for use in cable ladder and tray systems. NEMA and IEC 61537 are the most commonly cited standards in the manufacture of cable ladder and tray systems.

    Thus, following the independent assessment by a third-party classification body, customers can be assured that our products are of the highest standards and quality terms of in operation, production and management. This latest accomplishment verifies that the M*Rak division is finely tuned to serve customers’ needs into the future.

  • Tri-Star’s MASTERCOTE range of robust, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coated fasteners have been proven during salt-spray testing to last up to 9,000 hours without showing traces of rust or corrosion.

    As well as being a highly economical solution, MASTERCOTE parts are also resistant to most acidic chemicals, remaining undamaged even when exposed to hydrogen sulphide at temperatures up to 121°c at 2,000psi. We stock an extensive list of U-bolts, stud-bolts and foundation bolts in a variety of materials, ranging from heavy-duty carbon and stainless steel to more niche and specialist alloys. We design and engineer customised fastening products to address clients’ specific needs and requirements. Load-indicating variants are also available. 

    Tri-Star Industries is a trusted name in the offshore and petrochemical sector, currently holding a global Enterprise Frame Agreement with Shell Global Solutions for all its fasteners requirements. Alloy Technology, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tri-Star, is a specialist provider of critical, pressure containing fasteners to the subsea and LNG equipment manufacturers. It is the first and only company in Asia to be accredited by API to use both the API 20E and 20F Monogram.

    Many items in our product range are available in a number of epoxy, aluminium and FRP-GRP composite finishes, and contain fewer joints and fittings than many similar products on the market, reducing both the time and cost needed for installation. In addition, we provide consultancy services relating to the installation and bespoke design of our products.
