GBE S.p.A. is specialized in the production of air and resin insulated reactors in class F or H and oil-filled reactors for internal and external applications up to 5000 A/52 kV. For external applications, GBE S.p.A is able to supply resin reactors even without a protection box, thanks to the use of resin and special paints, resistant to UV rays.
CURRENT LIMITING REACTORS
•Used to limit fault currents to the values allowed by the protections
•Connected in series to the line
•They are single-phase coils without core
•They can be mounted in a bunk or supplied individually and connected on site
•Sometimes used to also limit the inrush current of the transformers
SHUNT REACTORS
•Compensate for the capacitance of long transmission lines
•Prevent the voltage from rising at the end of the line itself (Ferranti Effect)
SMOOTHING REACTORS
• Connected in series to the DC line
• Allow to reduce a current ripple on the line itself
• They are typically single-phase
• Operation similar to filter reactors with high impedances as the frequency increases
• Difference between filter reactor and smoothing reactor: since the main current is continuous, they suffer
less from problems related to additional losses
NEUTRAL FORMING REACTORS
• They have a three-phase core with a winding that is usually zigzag
• Used to create a dummy neutral that can be connected to earth directly or via resistance
• They are connected in a branch to the line
FILTER REACTORS
• Single-phase or three-phase reactors used to reduce the harmonic content in the network or inside systems with high voltage distortions
• Coupled with capacitances (capacitors), both on the LV side and on the MV side
