One particular area of expertise is in design for hazardous areas (i.e. ATEX, IECEx). We also do considerable work in smart metering for utilities. Subsea Technology
A2E brings a wealth of engineering experience to meet the rigours of subsea monitoring, inspection, and control applications. As well as specific expertise from a range of subsea projects, we utilize cross-industry technologies to create innovative new designs for the subsea sector.
We have built up expertise in design techniques for high-pressure environments and work with our customers to ensure individual components, PCBs, and complete systems are successfully tested at pressure.
A typical project for pipeline monitoring would employ advanced sensor technology and customer proprietary algorithms, with A2E supplying electronics and software expertise to implement the system and communications.
We enjoy combining our broad range of expertise to create solutions for our customers, e.g. creating complex communications systems and high voltage designs to operate in the high-pressure environment of an underwater vehicle.
Oil and Gas Expertise
Our team is a recognised leader in electronics developments for oil and gas. We have expertise in the techniques required for the growing range of applications in exploration, production, asset integrity and safety.
We specialise in the high-temperature design and endurance testing required for electronics used in drilling and downhole tools. We are extremely knowledgeable in designing the mechanical constraints involved, often having to create ruler-shaped PCBs.
Customers often ask for our assistance with the hardware and software involved in oil and gas communication systems. These can make use of the physical properties of the well and equipment to encode, transmit, and decode information and use standard protocols such as HART and Modbus.
