 Products

  • PA Series® Priming-Assisted Pumps
Gorman-Rupp’s extensive line of hard-working, dependable priming assisted (dry prime) pumps will tackle everything, including clear liquids, tough solids, and slurry applications....

  • Dry-run capability is designed into Gorman-Rupp’s unique priming-assisted system. An oversized,
oil-lubricated seal allows the pump to run dry continuously without causing any damage.

    Dry Priming
The Prime Aire pump system uses a venturi compressor priming chamber and priming valve which eliminates the leaks associated with traditional priming-assisted pumps. Compressed air is forced through the venturi by the air compressor to create a vacuum. The air in the pump casing and suction line are then evacuated with the compressed air to the atmosphere. The pump begins to prime as atmospheric pressure causes water to replace the evacuated air.

This unique system reduces environmental concerns on sewage bypass operations and also enables the pump to operate under flooded suction conditions without leaking. The positive priming capabilities of the PA Series make it the perfect choice for applications where large volumes of air is in the liquid being pumped, there are intermittent flows or there are long or oversized suction lines.

All G Series pumps are designed with features that are only available on Gorman-Rupp rotary gear pumps. The quality manufacturing and testing that go into each pump ensure reliable pumping long after installation. Additional features include:

    Rigid Rotating Elements
Optimum bushing locations provide high pressure operation while reducing overhung loads. On both packed box and mechanical seal models, the bushings are located as close as possible to the applied loads, providing maximum shaft support. High strength gear material eliminates the need for special steel fitted pump components traditionally required for viscous applications.

    Internal Seal Vent
Venting provides continuous flow of liquid through seal cavity, ensuring cooling. The seal cavity maintains low pressure, reducing seal face load and increasing seal life.

    Flexible Sealing
Gorman-Rupp rotary gear pumps are engineered to allow installation of industry-standard cartridge, compression packing or standard component mechanical seals.

    Back Pull-Out Design
The back pull-out design provides the ability to perform service and maintenance without disconnecting pump housing from piping.

  • Roto-Prime® Priming-Assisted Petroleum Pumps
Roto-Prime® priming-assisted centrifugal pumps are specifically designed to handle petroleum products, petrochemicals and solvents safely....

  • The Roto-Prime design incorporates a variable capacity vane pump which quickly and automatically evacuates air and vapor, making the pump ideal for loading and off-loading transports. The design effectively strips product from the suction line, eliminating spillage of potentially volatile liquids. Roto-Prime pumps are available in two styles. The RS Series models are designed for standard-duty operation. RD Series pumps are ideal for higher-head applications. All models are capable of priming without liquid in the pump casing.

    Unique Priming Process
During the priming process, a vacuum is created while the variable displacement sliding vane pump is in pumping mode. Vapor flow is directed from the suction to the priming pump through balance holes in the impeller and a kidney shaped hole in the body cover. The priming pump then discharges the vapor out tubing from the bearing housing to the volute discharge flange, located downstream of the integral priming valve. This prevents vapor from returning to the pump suction.

    Roto-Prime Provides Automatic, Positive Pumping
Whenever air or vapor is present at the start of the pumping operation – or when there is a loss of suction because of air or vapor during pumping – the priming pump automatically moves air and vapor from the suction line to discharge line. Once the flowing liquid from the centrifugal portion of the pump builds up sufficient pressure in the discharge system, the pressure backs up through a tube to act on the bottom of the priming pump’s movable slide block, placing it in a neutral position during normal operation.
