 Press Releases

  • Autoship Systems Corporation (ASC) of Vancouver, Canada and their Italian Reseller, Stefano Thermes of Navalia in collaboration with 5K Systems of Italy, are pleased to announce the delivery of over 70 educational licenses. Autoload® On-board and Load Planning Software and Stowage Planning Systems (SPS) will be installed at 10 Marine Technical Institutions in Italy.

ASC’s On-board and Load Planning software, Autoload is used at all stages of vessel operations. The program reads data from tank, draft, wind and sensors as well as user-input, and then reports on the condition of the vessel. Autoload is often used in conjunction with ASC-developed load planning modules specific to a vessel type, eg. supply, jack-up, bulk, ro-ro, rig, etc.  Ashore, the load planning modules are interfaced with the in-house booking systems and are used to create load plans which are then transmitted back to the vessel thus allowing more optimal loading in shorter time. The ASC educational package includes five models: merchant vessels ro-ro, multipurpose and container, bulk, tanker, and lng.

ASC’s Stowage Planning Systems (SPS) provide extensive stowage solutions for cargo management activities. SPS can be customized to different levels of management complexity ranging from organizing rig decks or supply vessels to complex Ro-Ro ship cargo placement.

Located in Genova, Italy, 5Ks are simulation experts in the defense and civil sectors. From design to installation to support they maintain simulators for several Navies around the world and also manage simulators for marine educational facilities.

Stefano Thermes of Navalia has been an ASC Reseller in Italy and Egypt for over 30 years. Navalia offers marine consulting services in addition to selling and servicing ASC software.

  • Autoship Systems Corporation (ASC) of Vancouver, Canada has been developing software solutions for the marine industry for over 40 years. In addition to producing world-class loading instruments and load planning systems for the entire marine shipping industry, ASC also develops a CAD/CAM suite. The suite includes a number of integrated programs, each of which performs specific functions for vessel design and construction.

Tomay Design of Istanbul, Turkey has been successfully using Autoship Pro (hull design & surface modelling) for hull modelling and its counterpart Autohydro Pro (hydrostatics & stability) in engineering for several major projects for its clients. Projects include a Multi-Purpose Vessel, Oil Spill Recovery Vessel, Oil Product Tanker, Mooring Boat and a Heavy Lift Accommodation Barge which is currently under construction. This powerful CAD/CAM approach speeds up the engineering time from beginning to completion offering higher accuracies of fully faired hulls in Autoship Pro, then better definition of tanks by Autohydro’s Modelmaker. The stability report is then submitted for class approval.

Tomay’s Founder, Mr. T. Tombak and Lead Naval Architect Mr. B. Kabasakal remarks “We feel fortunate as a naval architecture and engineering office to be using these powerful software tools. As an engineering office we need to compete against other firms to deliver quality engineering drawings both in the bid phase and in the final package of drawings for the client. By using Autoship Pro first to define the hull shape and then a seamless import into Autohydro Pro, we’re working at a high level of efficiency that pleases our growing client list.”

  • Autoship Systems Corporation (ASC) of Vancouver, Canada is pleased to supply Boskalis Marine Services (Boskalis) with ASC’s market leading onboard stability software, Autoload.

Boskalis has installed over 20 licenses of Autoload onboard their Anchor Handling Tugs and Offshore Construction Vessels.

Headquartered in Papendrecht in the Netherlands, Boskalis is a global dredging contractor and marine services provider. They operate in 90 countries with a fleet of over 650 vessels and floating equipment.

Boskalis uses Autoload to satisfy their class needs for approved Type 2 and Type 3 loading instrument software. Type 2 software calculates stability and compares against approved MaxVCG curves for intact and damage stability. Type 3 software calculates stability and runs checks on all the design damage stability cases at the current loading state.

Autoship Systems UK Director, Bill McKinnon said “We are proud to have been selected by Boskalis to supply our Autoload onboard stability software for installation on a part of the Boskalis offshore fleet”.
