[Houston, Texas]: Newland Oiltools announced today the release of the HTHP PolovalTM, a new, all polymer float valve capable of withstanding extreme downhole conditions of up to up to 400˚F and 10,000psi and engineered to comply with the American Petroleum Institute’s most rigorous specification for float equipment check valves. Except for the valve return spring, the HTHP PolovalTM valve is constructed entirely of unique polymeric composite materials that, when installed into Float Equipment with Newlands proprietary high temperature, high-pressure blend of cement, completely eliminates the use of aluminum, therefore decreasing drill-out time, improving drill-bit longevity and ultimately resulting in lower costs and increased efficiency.
PolovalTM Float Valves are available in four (4) sizes, with the following specifications:
Item | Valve Size | Performance | Specific Performance Description |
1 | P50 | D36R8T400P10 | Flow rate:8bbl/min,36h test; Temperature 400℉,Pressure 10Kpsi |
2 | P60 | D36R12T400P10 | Flow rate:12bbl/min,36h test; Temperature 400℉,Pressure 10Kpsi |
3 | P70 | D36R15T400P10 | Flow rate:15bbl/min,36h test; Temperature 400℉,Pressure 10Kpsi |
4 | P90 | D36R20T400P10 | Flow rate:20bbl/min,36h test; Temperature 400℉,Pressure 10Kpsi |
“As the industry continues to push the technical performance envelope whilst demanding more for less, the operational challenges placed on mission critical downhole equipment continues to increase. After three years of intense development and testing, we are intensely proud to bring to the well construction market our all Polymer, 10K rated, PolovalTM Float Valve. This is truly innovative technology that significantly raises the standard in both performance and reliability and has already received attention from the some of the industry heavy weights.” says Jason Kent, Executive Vice President at Newland Oiltools.
Features and benefits of the PolovalTM include.
- Meets new API 10F Specification (2019) requiring a rating to 400˚F and 10,000psi
- Non-Metallic
- Patented design surpasses current industry standards for cement adhesion to inner body of float equipment.
- Auto-fill capability
- Can be employed in tandem valve configurations.
PolovalTM will be available starting March of 2024 installed in Newlands range of Float Equipment and Reamer Shoes to approved Oilfield distributors, service companies, and Operators.
