  • Mitsui Chemicals Inc. is the manufacturer of TPI AURUM®, thermoplastic Polyimide powder and granule (TPI) in Japan. BARplast is the official distributor of this material in the USA, in raw-material and semi-finshed and finished forms. The mother company of BARplast, BIEGLO GmbH in Germany is official distributor appointed for the EU including Switzerland and the UK. Accessibility to this Ultra High-Performance Polymer through BARplast will open new opportunities for this product that is positioned at the top of the polymer pyramid.

AURUM® is usable for advanced coatings, and clean-room applications due to low trace amounts of outgassing and metallic impurities. Used in aviation, automotive and other industries, AURUM® can be compounded and converted like any other thermoplastic. Its combination of high strength, stiffness, and thermal resistance of up to 572°F make it a versatile material for various high-performance applications.

AURUM Thermoplastic Polyimide (TPI) is the most heat resistant thermoplastic polymer material available. TPI AURUM is known to be thermally, chemically, electrically as well as mechanically very strong. Various sizes of rods, tubes, sheets and films can be obtained by extrusion process with AURUM having and outstanding Tg of 473°F. Along with excellent wear and friction properties, it is highly resistant to Oils at both high and low temperature. In the oil and gas industry it can be applied as an Insulation material for pipes and tanks, used to seal pumps and also avoid escape of gases as gas sealants.

On the other hand, Thermosetting Polyimide (PI) because of its light weight properties its superior for a wide range of applications. These are best suited in aerospace, electronics, industrial and other energy sector applications. In the oil and gas industry they can be applied as seal & gasket for pumps and also used to protect the valve of pipelines.

Dexnyl© PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) is a thermoplastic material which has properties such as excellent wear resistance, best-in-class fatigue resistance and excellent chemical resistance to organics. PEEK has a continuous operating temperature up to 482°F. PEEK rods, tubes, sheets, films and finished parts can be used in the following industries: Aerospace, Electronics, Chemical processing, Automotive, Transportation, Food etc. But for the oil and gas industry, it is used to protect pipelines and other equipment’s against harmful impact of strong chemicals, and for tubing and fittings.

Dexnyl© PAI (Polyamideimide) semi-finished is characterized by its strength and better stiffness especially at temperatures above 482°F. In the oil and gas industry, it can be used as

Stamped thrust washers, gasket, bushing and compressor vanes.

Polybenzimidazole (PBI) is one of the highest performing engineering thermoplastic materials. This material is characterized by a glass transition temperature of 800.6 °F and a broad chemical resistance. In the Oil and gas industry it can be used for gas separation applications, as seals and gaskets, insulation material, etc.

Dexnyl© PEI is a thermoplastic material characterized by its excellent thermal performance with a continuous use at higher temperatures. PEI polymer is known for its exceptional performance, including a strong strength-to-weight ratio and the ability to retain its strength up to 390°F (200°C). It also has excellent long-term resistance to thermal oxidation, good electrical properties, and inherent resistance to both chemicals and flames. In the Oil and gas industry it is used to make downhole, pump and compressor components like bushings, valves, bearings and also for piping’s against corrosive fluids and gases.
