    DataCan Services Corp., a global leader in oilfield instrumentation, announced that it entered an agreement to acquire the Measuring Head product line from Lee Specialties.

    The purchase includes the Measuring Heads: Slickline, E-Line, and Tension product lines, effective 1 October 2019. 

    The Lee Specialties Measuring Heads are widely known for their innovative design and reliability. This product line is a natural fit into DataCan’s existing product catalog. DataCan already services many of the same customers and this synergy should provide a more fulfilling customer experience. DataCan is committed to continue technology development of Measuring Head product lines. 

    DataCan’s goal is to continue to offer exceptional customer support and leading-edge product designs to our global customer base.

    The 1.25” DXB Quartz II has the largest diameter barrel of all the quartz gauges, which allows for a larger battery to run the gauge for extra-long term tests; typically for jobs 6 months to 1 year in duration. The 1.25” Quartz DXB II is characterized by its electron beam welded sensor, and maximized temperature response due to the geometry of the sensor. The gauge also has a triple o-ring connection and metal to metal seal that prevents leaks from entering.     Application

    The 1.25” Quartz DXB has a larger diameter barrel than the 0.75” Quartz, which allows for a larger battery to run the gauge for a long duration job. The 1.25” DXB Quartz is characterized by its electron beam welded sensor, super seal technology connection, and maximized temperature response due to the geometry of the sensor. The board is shock mounted in a long term reliability package to protect your data from vibration and drops and extend electronics life. The 1.25” Quartz DXB also has the highest maximum pressure rating of 30,000 psi and highest maximum temperature rating of 200°C, hence for high pressures and high temperature applications, the 1.25” DXB Quartz design is perfect.

    Application

    Application

    DataCan’s 0.75” Quartz II Pressure Gauge is used to provide continuous, real time data about downhole conditions, helping increase productivity throughout the life of the well or reservoir. The gauge uses a quartz pressure sensor to produce the highest quality data and has a high pressure rating, operating at pressures up to 25,000 psi and temperatures up to 150°C. The gauge is characterized by its electron beam welded sensor, feedthru and housing bodies. It has hermetically sealed electronics and a dual protection metal to metal seal design that prevents leaks from entering, all of which makes it very reliable.     Application

    DataCan’s Multi-Gauge Passthru Piezo Tool is used for multi gauge applications. It has the capability to connect up to 8 gauges on a single conductor.     Reservoir Monitoring Data Acquisitione

    DataCan’s Surfaces Boxes are used to collect and store downhole data and can be used to control pumps or valves by sending a signal to the pump or valve controller. Surface boxes come standard with a display and memory, and have a 20 million sample capacity

    Similar to the Surface Box, the addition of the touchscreen allows you to see the real-time output of multiple gauges without the need for a laptop.

    Application

    A real time reservoir monitoring system for; progressive cavity pump, hydraulic lift (sucker rod), gas lift, observation and injection wells. DataCan’s Surface Box with Color Touchscreen is designed to display, record, and output the real-time data of multiple gauges. The gauges can be in a single well on a single wire (multi-gauge), or from multiple wells on a single pad (multi-well), or a combination of both. DataCan Piezo and Quartz sensors, Surface transmitters, RTD’s, and Thermocouples can be connected. The box can output an RS-485, or 4-20mA signal. This eliminates the need for combination wireline units to carry two measuring heads. By incorporating dual digital encoders for electronic depth, a planetary drive for mechanical depth, and a slickline oiler system; this measuring head covers all of your slickline, cased hole, and open hole measurement needs. The simple side loading, lightweight design makes for effortless installation and maintenance. The Universal Measuring Head incorporates dual digital encoders for electronic measurements, a planetary drive for mechanical measurements, and a slickline oiler.     The Inline Tension Calibrator has a compact design, making it easily portable. Calibration can be done quickly, easily and safely as it does not need a high tension to calibrate.

    Electronic Tension Device (S-link )Electronic Tension Device (S-link )

    This system allows for tension to be monitored on systems that do not offer a tension device attached to a measuring head.

    Application

    The Electronic Tension Device monitors wireline tension by connecting to a sheave, and the S-link load cell converts tension to electronic signal which is then read into LineWise monitoring and recording. This system allows for tension to be monitored on systems that do not offer a tension device attached to a measuring head, typically slickline. Available in 5000 and 10, 000 lbf tension ratings, with lower ranges available upon request.
